Message: My fiance and I have been making our own chainmaille (forming and cutting the rings ourselves) and we have noticed a few problems and were wondering if there were any suggestions. First we were using a diamond blade connected to a Drummel tool. But unfortunately the blade cut out too much of the material and the shape of our rings suffered. Then we tried to use snips and it would pinch the metal together and there was little chance for a seamless-looking ring. If there are any suggestions we would love to hear them. (actually, its more of a splint mail, but the plates are more decorative than functional. :P ) were using andonized titanium in a beautiful emerald green hue. ITs going good so far, as we've almost finished the chain part. all that left are the plates. I'll post it in abut a thousand years (or when we finish the plates, also andonized titanium, but a green that looks almost clear-ish from a ceratin angle). Haha!
