Heya all,
Kabaalk left a note with this submission about how to handle it.
http://www.mailleartisans.org/gallery/subcat.cgi?key=21835
I personally think that a new category for Art:CGI might be an idea.
I'm loathe to just dump it in MIsc, or even Art: Other, because it's not really providing a proper home for it.
Any comments?

As long as adding the category to the Gallery is easy, and the submissions are maille related (as that one obviously is), I'm all for it.

New cat is created. Lemme know if the name or description should change, or if anyone has an icon to use for it...

Sounds like a great idea. Glad to see it was that quick and easy to do, Blaise. As for icons, check out some of Phong's renders. They look better than I can photograph the real thing with any of my digital gear.

Hey, Blaise. I know you just added Art: CGI. Did you also add some other categories? There are quite a few that are listing 0 entries, including most of the armor sections. If they?re not new subcategories then we may have a problem.

Micromaille would be a good example of why we need LABELS and not categories. With labels, you could identify an entry as both Sculpture AND Micromaille (or whatever).
It's just like the articles -- sometimes things fit in multiple categories. Smack labels on em instead and it's much, much easier to find something.

sort of how we are organizing the weaves library?
and, hopefully, the article library?
i think that is the best plan for general usability of the site.

Seconded.
How about a 'Tag cloud' like this page:
