I make my own rings and I have many mandrels, I even have more than one of each size of ring ID.
Sit back, relax, and whip out some rings! |

you should put "maybe" Because for almost all my 14 gauge projects, I make them. My jewelry projects are made of premade rings.

i make all my rings from raw wire, altough i did make some rings from trampoline springs, so that's not really all handmade but its close.

I make all of my own with a few exeptions, I buy my 1/8" ID anodized stuff pre cut, 'cause I'll only use saw cut that small, and I don't want to bother with all that efort, I also buy some preciouse metals in rings. And I have 7 different sized mandrels all between 1/8 and 3/8" diameter

they were 3/4" id with 10 gauge wire. i ended up making just a fivelet with them because it took to long to cut the links. i had to anneal the springs first in a fire then use a chisel, an anvil and hammer to cut them apart. so due to the nasty surface from the annealling proccess and the slow going on cutting i stopped making them.
edit: to correct wire gauge and insert pic

I coil and cut my own, and just recently made a jig stand thing to hold my wire and mandrel when I roll. I'm so glad I made that thing. I have 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, and 1/2 inch mandrels. All are simply cold rolled steel bars, that I have bent into shape. The 1/2 inch was fun to try and bend.
If I ever decide to work in sterling again, or I want more anodized aluminum, then I will order it. I don't feel comfortable yet with saw cutting, and don't really feel like trying it. Otherwise, ordering the premade rings is too expensive. Plus, cutting rings makes for a past-time when I can't maille
