I get called a goth all the time, usually by the arrogant little year 7's at my school (they really should learn not to pick on the school's seniory year). It's probably because of my black greatcoat, with the hp4-1 braiding on the left shoulder

It's not much....yet! Only the braiding so far, since I have had a few orders to build, the most interesting one being a bra!!
I'll get a pic of the braiding though, in the next day or two.....maybe if I take a break from the bra and several bracelets I have going it'll be in the next 1/2 hour..... We shall see......

If you check my profile now, you can see an extremely bad shot of me in the coat, but the quality of the shot leaves a lot to be desired, so you can't see much.
A better pic of just the braiding has been submitted, so you'll just have to wait for it to be approved.

Love the shoes, love the coat. On the topic of being called a goth, I did get called that in 1987 but I think I'm too old to be called anything but approaching middle age now! Anyway it's far too easy to label people and the label never encompasses the whole.

| Agreed Legba, labels stink. The other day I got called square, boring and tame, mainly because I'm too fond of having my drivers licence to do the P-plate thing and speed. I think I mentioned earlier that I was called goth by the sadly misinformed, and my cousin calls me a freak cause I make maille. Oh, and being a P-plater people think I'm about 21 (sweet of them) when in fact I'm almost 30. The fact that I've had so many labels attached would certainly mean that labels really don't mean anything. |

I think 'goths' are funny. I had never seen the point in being depressed, smoking cloves, wearing black and effectively shortening your life by years.
However, I'm not one to exactly speak. I got called goth in high school, and sometimes even now by the people who dont know any better. *le sigh*
Sunno what I'd call myself, really. Odd? Cyberpunk? Cypherpunk? Geek? Gamer? I think I'll enjoy being one who walks between the tribes... except for those jocks.. ick. =) |
