I guess, the Pangolin scales are 'simply' sewn to a fabric or leather backing, and not woven with rings like modern scale maille. Can you tell anything more about that piece, apart from the info given already in the image description?

I was reading up on them today. they're related to the giant ground sloths that died out at the end of the Pleistocene.

Might be a fitting suit of armor for a SCAdian that studies such things.
