I am thinking of making a jpl bracelet with 20 gauge 3/32" nickel silver jump rings. Has anyone done this? If so, is this the correct size for the metal?
Thanks much!
Happy happy!

Generally most individuals would want to avoid using metal with nickel in it for jewellery, as it causes a lot of problems for people with Metal Allergies.

If it's 20 AWG (0.8mm), that is coiled on 3/32" mandrel, it is the proper sizing for Jens Pind Linkage, as this results in a net AR of just shy of three - with expected springback, you'll end a bit above three.
Personally I love weaving JPL with comparybly high ARs, as these are simply more 'fluid' than tighter woven JPL chains. But note that this can lead to slipping rings at open chain ends. But starting and finishing such chains with two to four slightly smaller rings solves this problem - if you don't owe such a slightly smaller mandrel (2.25mm, or 11/128") to make these, simple snipping a bit material off some of the given rings suffices to reduce the diameter to get the wished result.

Human societies are like chain mail.
A single link will be worth nothing.
A chain is of use, but will break at the weakest link.
A weak weave will have the need to replace weak links.
A strong weave will survive even with weak links included.

This bracelet is for me. I made a necklace last year to wear to my daughter's wedding. It was postponed to this coming fall and I want to make a bracelet to wear, as well. I am not allergic to nickel.
Thank you for all input!
